Adobe shows off the Adobe capabilities on the BlackBerry PlayBook. In this 5:24 minuet video, she shows how to show video playing from the PlayBook on a TV through a HDMI cable. The guys at BGR got a chance to take a closer look at the BlackBerry PlayBook. (lucky them) The video demonstrates the different functionals of the tablet, such as:
- The entire bezel is used for navigation
- Playing music from the media app and having it in the background
- Swipes through the tablet to move between apps
- Open keyboard by swiping up from the bottom left on the bezel
- And much more
Unfortunately, they did not demonstrate how the surfing on the internet with the PlayBook in this video. It seems that RIM is being really active in showing off their PlayBook this week. This is perfect for us BlackBerry enthusiasts. We can be expecting more PlayBook news coming soon.
BlackBerry App World Now Accepting BlackBerry PlayBook Applications

RIM is really getting themselves ready for the release of the PlayBook. As an incentive, registered developers who’s application gets accepted to BlackBerry App World prior to the release of BlackBerry PlayBook, will receive a free PlayBook. So developers, get working on those PlayBook applications.

A review of the announcements made last week at the developer conference

Over the last three years, we have always been surprised by the announcements made at the DevCon. Just a week ago, we witnessed the third annual DevCon in San Francisco. During the event, the Canadian company made numerous announcements about the forthcoming features and developments in the world of BlackBerry smartphones.
But, the most important and surprising announcement was the unveiling of the new device from RIM. Yes we are talking about the new device called PlayBook, which is a tablet computer. And, the new operating system for the forthcoming device PlayBook also grabbed much attention. Looking at the specifications and features of the device, one can surely expect that it will generate the same popularity as the BlackBerry smartphones. But, we have to wait for few months to enjoy the features of the tablet from RIM.
Apart from that, there were also some more significant announcements from RIM, which eventually lost its sheen in the mesmerizing effects of the PlayBook. In the DevCon 2010, RIM made an announcement that no more fees shall be charged from the developers of BlackBerry applications for the submission of the application. It means that the developers will not be charged any registration fees for the submission of the application. This will open up numerous possibilities for the application developers, who were initially scared about the registration fees. They can submit their BlackBerry application for free at the BlackBerry App World.
The next exciting news which made headline at DevCon is the announcement of the new social platform for the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). The newer platform will offer numerous advantages to the BlackBerry users, as it will include wide range of BBM related API’s. Some of the new features will allow you to connect to the contact list of your smartphone using a third party application. And, it is believed to create a complete new experience for the BlackBerry users, with new possibilities as well. Along with, we also saw the advancement of a new tool called Eclipse, which will now enable the Mac users to develop BlackBerry applications. The new plug-in will certainly create copious opportunities for the Mac users. Lastly, we also came across the announcement related to the BlackBerry Payment services and BlackBerry Analytics. So, with so much to come in the future, we can surely expect that very soon BlackBerry will leave behind its rivals in the competition.
