BlackBerry 9980 R47 aka “Knight” will be a Porsche-designed smartphone?

Yesterday, Hendrik introduced a non-identified BlackBerry device – BlackBerry 9980. Still no news about what exactly the phone is or is it a real BlackBerry smartphone. From our sources, we only know that it’s called the BlackBerry 9980 R47 code name: Knight. The code name is somewhat different from how RIM labels their devices. Which leads me to believe it’s another China fake.

Since the release of the pictures, many people have commented that its really ugly. Those are you thoughts and I respect that. But while most people say it’s ugly, rumor has it that this is the next Porsche-designed limited edition BlackBerry smartphone. What do you think about that? Would you buy it for $2,000?

Perhaps it’s not that appealing for most people, but from the video above, it seems like this phone’s OS is super smooth and it runs flash. Specs wise, I don’t think this phone would be that bad. But I must point out, I strongly believe typing on this QWERTY keyboard would be a pain in the… That’s all I have about the BlackBerry 9980 for now, watch the video and let me know what you think about it.

I don’t think it’s a fake. At some point the guy surfs a Chinese website, but the Chinese characters on the website are displayed as black boxes. If a Chinese company is making a fake model, they definitely make sure display of Chinese characters work.

If anyone wants to know what the guy says in the video…
First he lists all the hardware buttons, then he is impressed by the fast browsing speed of the webbrowser. Basically he is describing with his own words what he is seeing. No additional information that you can’t see yourself, except that it runs on BB OS 7 and it’s a 3G device.
