Dropbox is now Blackberry 7 Compatible

Dropbox has finally released a new version that is BlackBerry 7 compatible – version 1.0.52. The new version brings a few new features and resolve a number of issues. The changelog includes:

New features:

  • Security passcode
  • Save email attachments to Dropbox

This build resolves:

  • Issues on 9900 & 9930 devices (BB OS 7 support for other devices should be working fine)
  • Bug on thumbnails screen where only a few thumbnails were loaded
  • Performance issues (more work to be done here)
  • Various design tweaks

Known issues we’re working to resolve:

  • Passcode is not engaged when you hit the button to turn off the screen (only when you leave the app)
  • Cached files are re-downloaded unnecessarily

RIM’s latest batch of BlackBerry smartphones, the first to run the new BlackBerry 7 OS, is currently being released across the globe. My inbox is already full of inquiries from readers seeking recommendations on BlackBerry-7-compatible applications. Unfortunately, not all of my favorite apps will run smoothly on RIM’s new OS 7—Dropbox, Pandora, Kindle and MLB At Bat don’t, to name just a few. But there are still plenty of quality downloads to be had.

    Hello Alkx5521
If you click the Link at the end of the article, then it will immediately download the BB OS 7.0 jad-File for Dropbox. After Downloading, you can install it using the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Right click and save does not work.

If you need another version, not the version for BB OS 7.0, then check out this link for an overview of available dropbox versions:

    Hello Patent Attorney,

I’m sure the developers are all working very hard to get their products up to speed. I’m sure a more solid BB OS 7.0 will be in place in a month or two for all apps on the market. Be patient my friend :)
