RIM launches new app development tools
It is true that if a company wants to sustain in this highly competitive market, then it has to constantly update its products and its features. It has to keep the customer’s interest alive for the product. As a long as there is a demand of the product, money will keep flowing into the company. Research In Motion, founder of the BlackBerry handsets have rightly understood this point, and has acted accordingly.
This Tuesday, Research In Motion added a new feather to the BlackBerry handsets. RIM has launched a new set of updated software for the development of the BlackBerry applications. The software is basically a development tool which will help in creating some new exciting applications for the BlackBerry handsets.
While launching the updated software development kit, the Shaw Wu, who is an analyst from the Kaufman Bros, wrote in one of his research note that up gradation of the application development tool is a way to strengthen the present condition of the BlackBerry handsets in this competitive application market. This move will definitely help Research In Motion to solidify its position on the top as a maker of the smartphones.
Shaw Wu in his research note also wrote that Research In Motion is quite aware of the low numbers of BlackBerry application in the market, but they are not worried about it. This is because they believe in quality rather than in quantity. He also mentioned that the development or the up gradation mainly encompasses the java and web-development tools. As a result it will empower the developer of the application with some more features to develop some excitingly new BlackBerry applications. This change will surely make the application development part easy, and will definitely bring some feature rich applications for the BlackBerry handsets in the near future. The development kit will allow the creation of applications which will completely integrate with the inbox, contacts, calendar, address book, and other features of a BlackBerry handset.
Shaw Wu also added that in the near future there are also some surprise packages which will boost up the sale of the BlackBerry handsets. He stated that some of the forthcoming developments are a new Web Browser for the smartphone, and some new form factor devices. He maintained a price target of $93. It is speculated that this move from the RIM is resulted by the gain of 2% in the share price of the company, which has risen to $70.24.
