Now searching for information on your BlackBerry will become easier and less time-consuming with the new search engine that has been launched by Handcase. Handcase is a Brazilian mobile software industry reputed for developing mobile software and contents. Its latest contribution to making the mobile phones convenient for searching is the search engine called Gune. Sounds quite uncommon, but Gune means Site in the Basque language. With Gune in your BlackBerry the whole process of searching for information will be reduced to minimal investment of time.
The search engine Gune is basically a system of meta-search. It means that in the process of looking for information, the system looks up other websites also and then generates results that are displayed in one page. While searching for the required information, Gune consults the websites Google and Bing. With the help of these two, it comes up with quick search results. As far as displaying the results are concerned, they are displayed on a single page with a list of ten results on each search engine. Attempts have been made to immensely simplify the process of searching and to achieve the purpose two search boxes have been provided. One is present at the top while the other one is present at the bottom of the page.
One may feel compelled to compare it with other websites of the conventional meta-search of the Internet that employs the same principle as used by Gune. However there is a difference between Gune and the other similar websites. As far as Gune is concerned, it provides only mobile search and as mentioned before that the results are provided in a single page. As the CEO of Handcase, Ricardo Garay explains that the main motive behind Gune was the optimization of the time of the users and also a search experience that is of superior quality.
Though Gune is currently available only in English, efforts are on to build the versions in Portuguese and Spanish. Apart from search results, Gune also offers a directory of mobile websites and also invites all indicate mobile websites. With Gune everyone can make contributions by visiting the website for the PC and giving their tips if they know or have any mobile website.
