The company Research In Motion has made way for developers to cash in and create more attractive and convincing third party applications and games intended for the BlackBerry Smartphones. For this, the company has announced a new set of tools and services to realize the above mentioned purposes. In association with other leading advertising networks, the company has come up with an in-app advertising platform. This will allow easily integrating ads into applications as well as embedding innovative ad functionalities. Some of them could be adding calendar and contact entries, initiating calls and much more.

In addition to all this, BlackBerry applications will also get purchasing tools, so these in-app purchases will allow the developers to charge for premium contents, subscriptions and also upgrades. Moreover, the company is also launching a push notification service, in the line of iPhone’s notification service that will allow for time-sensitive alerts to be set.
.
Among the set of tools and services announced by Research In Motion, the new services also include location based services, which can be used by the developers. The features of the services will allow for cell tower triangulation geolocation, reverse geocoding for address linking, as well as travel time functionality which will help to estimate the distance and time between locations. In addition to the purchasing tools and geolocation tools, Research In Motion is also launching more powerful gaming support with OpenGL and Java tools. These will provide for 3D graphics and easier interface development.

These new features that have been announced will be available from and throughout the year 2010. For example, the features like the in-app advertising, push notifications and the new location based services will be available in the first half of the year 2010. The other features like in-app purchasing will be available from somewhere by the middle of 2010.

Further, there have been some more announcements related to the above news. Research In Motion and Adobe announced that the developers will also be able to use Adobe Flash and Adobe Creative Suite. These will help the developers to create applications for BlackBerry devices with integrated collaboration between Adobe’s content creation applications and the BlackBerry development tools.

So, powered with these new tools and services, the developers will be able to create some great and compelling applications that will make using the BlackBerry Smartphones a delight to all their privileged owners.
