New BlackBerry Developer Tools to be launched soon!
Many new Developer tools are in store for BlackBerry users, this was announced at the Research in Motion BlackBerry Developer conference yesterday. These enhancements, it is said will benefit the end-user directly. Some of the tool announced include:
API to third party
Research in Motion launched a few new API’s to third party developers. The Push Service API is one of the new services which will be available for third party developers and free users. This was earlier available only on some core applications but can now be freely used. These applications can be chosen to receive notifications as alerts at the top of BlackBerry screens, as a badge on the actual application or sent to the users inbox. It will be easier and more convenient to use this as the new payment method will ensure that bill is cashed to the carriers bill straight.
RIM also launched three new location based services. Cell site geo-location being one of them which can work in stead of GPS which can estimate your phone’s location. Reverse geo-coding can help in tell you the actual address from the location mentioned by the previous software. Travel time can help you in judging how much time it will take you to reach from one point to another.
OpenGL ES Support
The latest version of BlackBerry Java SDK 5.0, available after an update will support OpenGL ES. This will ensure that 3D gaming can be supported on your BlackBerry through this new-age API.
New themes from BlackBerry World
You can brighten up the look of your BlackBerry with the new themes and widgets for purchase at the BlackBerry theme Studio 5.0 . This can ensure that you can import Adobe files in to your phone for a better graphic program. Various screen transitions and ringtones can also be incorporated into these.
