Introducing Boingo wireless for BlackBerry smartphones
The world’s largest network of Wi-Fi hotspots, Boingo wireless has launched its authentication software and Boingo Mobile services for BlackBerry smartphones. This will enable BlackBerry users to use the wi-fi internet service rather than cellular data when they are in the coverage area of a Boingo hotspot. With a wide network of over 1,00,000 hotspots, Boingo Mobile already offers its support applications to other smartphones like Android, iPhone, Symbian series 60 and Windows Mobile Platform.
The Boingo application will initially be launched for BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Curve 8320 and BlackBerry Bold smartphones and for the other phones will announce as and when it becomes available. This software will make wireless networking easier for BlackBerry users.
Boingo Mobile application will provide the user with a simple, single button and automated way to connect to Boingo wireless network. Once installed, the application will detect and inform the user when they are in a Boingo hotspot zone and then connect with a single click. This will make internet browsing easier and more effective than cellular data for the BlackBerry user.
“Boingo Mobile is about ease of use and a low-cost, high-speed alternative to cellular data,” said Jonathan Mendelson, general manager of mobile and product management. “BlackBerry users can seamlessly switch to a Boingo Wi-Fi connection when they’re online using data-intensive applications.”
Boingo Mobile’s Blackberry software is based on public beta testing by Boingo Labs and has been made after huge feedback from the users. Boingo Wirelss Inc. is currently the leader in Wi-Fi across the globe and users can log in at various hotspots including airports, restaurants, hotels etc with a single account. Such is the ease of use of Boingo Wi-Fi.
