The BlackBerry range of mobiles has been the most flexible one which supports many applications. The RIM (Research In Motion) was developed to provide information over wireless data network for the mobile phone servers. With this introduction the BlackBerry SmartPhones were introduced which was very much welcomed with a number of customers. RIM introduced the Mobile Voice System (MVS) almost a year ago, which was developed by the Ascendent Systems.

Now by integrating the RIM’s MVS server with Cisco Unified Communications, they are bringing together the prominent Mobile manufacturer BlackBerry and the dominant Messaging System Cisco Communications. This Union also implies that you can have your BlackBerry phone merged with the Cisco IP phones and have a single unified number for both. This means that both your mobile phone and the desk phones will have a common number and common voice mailbox.

They allow you to receive calls at any number of phones and you can also set the sequence in which the phones should ring. At the same time you can also make calls from either the mobile phone server or the Cisco desk phone server. This means that the features of the desk phone are extended to your BlackBerry smartphone and vice versa. The calls in the desk phone can be easily transferred to the mobile phones. Apart from the existing features this synchronization brings along some additional new features with it.

They are allowed to block incoming and outgoing of certain international calls. This phone will have great commercial use. This can be ideally used by the employees. Using this number you can reach the employee both at the desk and away from it. Even if that particular employee is replaced the number could be retained.

RIM and Cisco Communications announced their collaboration in early May 2009. They have also said that this incredible facility will first be available for the folks in North America by the second half of the year. However to enable this facility you need a BlackBerry Enterprise server of version 4.1.5 and above and Cisco Unified Communication Manager version 6.1 and above. The MVS server will run on BlackBerry mobile phones with an OS version of 4.5 and above. This would surely be the most awaited arrival of the year.
