Terra Mobility’s File Manager Pro for BlackBerry is a file and Zip archive manager that helps BlackBerry users manage their files on their smartphone. File manager pro offers advanced features like selecting multiple files, sorting files by date, type or size, and letting users make a Favorites list for fast access to frequently used folders.

File Manager Pro lets BlackBerry users extract PDF and Office documents from their Zip attachments and open them using on-device PDF readers and on Docs-To-Go. Very often, documents sent as attachments to emails come within a zip archive, making them inaccessible through native format applications on the device. With File Manager Pro, users can extract these files with considerable ease, and use applications like Docs-To-Go and on-device PDF readers to view and edit them.

Conversely, File Manager Pro lets users compress and send documents as attachments from their BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry has a size limitation on size of attachments being sent through email. Often, PDF and Office files exceed this limit, as single files as well as multiple files. But with File Manager Pro, users can compress one or more files into a zip archive, thereby avoiding the size limitations on attachments while sending files through email. Also, if the data plan being used is metered, it can save the user a lot of precious KBs while sending files.

With this application, users can easily manage all their files and folders present on their device. File Manager Pro offers the function of simultaneously selecting and applying file operations on multiple files and folders, as well as recursively applying file operations within a folder hierarchy. Moreover, users can sort files either by size to locate those files that consume excess space, or by date to find specific files received on a particular date. BlackBerry users can also make a Favourites list to easily navigate across different folder levels.

File Manager Pro supports any BlackBerry smartphone running OS 4.2.1 or higher. Supported models include the BlackBerry Storm, Bold, Curve 8300 and 8900 series, Pearl 8100 and 8200 series, and the BlackBerry 8800 series.

File manager Pro can be installed OTA here from the BlackBerry browser. Alternatively, this application can also downloaded to a desktop and subsequently installed to the BlackBerry. Terra Mobility has currently released a free Beta version of the application for users who wish to try it out.
