Viigo - News on the go for your Blackberry
The need for news on the move has been a widely researched and marketed area for a number of years now. There are several applications right now that cater to the needs of the growing demands of the public to provide flash alerts of happening news around the world. Many of these applications leave out some key features or become entirely unfathomable to use with an overdose of information and options. There is a solution now however, for the Blackberry mobile phones that promises to deliver news to the viewer as is it is happening in the world. This application is termed as Viigo.
Viigo Inc, the company behind the Viigo for blackberry application released the software for world wide distribution and it also offers free downloads of the software on its website. The software can be downloaded either by e-mail or sms or directly to the mobile phone or installed through the computer. One of the key functionalities of the Viigo is that it supports RSS feeds that means live feeds from source websites can reach the mobile phone faster than any news channel can broadcast it. Another important and widely sort after module in this application is the Weather option that gives a 5 day detailed report of weather in any part of the world. All sport related news be it football or basketball can be obtained only by a single click through this handy application. The main drawing point of this application is the fact that all the features and categories are laid out in a clear and efficient manner without leading to confusion and frustration while reading. The application has been designed to consume very less data rates so that no unnecessary information finds its way onto the user screen. This thereby saves the data transfer charges which depends on local network operators. The application also ensures that its readers are not left bored by stuffing in information about movies, books, games etc into the entertainment section. The vital aspect in this application is that it works offline as well because data from 2500 of the most popularly visited sites are available along with the software itself there by neglecting the need for a network connection.
With information about local interest spots and stock markets also adding to the list of features available with the Viigo, it is ensured that the application will have its fair share of Blackberry mobile phone owners using it as it is available for free online.

When I’m in commute via subway or bus, I’m always up to date with Viigo on my Curve.
Sports? oh yeah..who’s playing where and when and what’s the current score.
Did my friends flight leave on time? What is the estimated arrival time? All at my fingertips.
Feeds about my favorite websites? ha! Love it! All there. Keeps me informed and from zoning out on the commute home.
