Is BlackBerry smuggling a sport now?

It seems the BlackBerry is quite popular not just amongst terrorists but also amongst smugglers. It seems there are lots of attempts to smuggle BlackBerry devices into customs protected countries like the Jakarta Post reports:

Customs officials foiled a large-scale attempt to smuggle in 100 Blackberry wireless devices which originated in Hong Kong at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten on Tuesday.

Well, I can understand that there is a need for considerably cheap BlackBerry devices. The devices came from Hong Kong which is completely duty free. I bought my BlackBerry Pearl in Hong Kong and it was just around 400 US$ bucks - quite a good bargain at that time

Having such prices all over the world at your local cell phone dealer would be great. Smugglers are motivated by this and try everything to provide the customer with cheap hardware.
