Mayor wanted to ban BlackBerry devices!

The buzzing of BlackBerries during meetings may be an annoyance to Mayor Stephen Mandel, but it’s something he had better get used to.

Civic politicians today voted down a proposal that would have prohibited them from using the electronic gizmos during council and committee meetings.

“I lost again,” Mandel later told reporters.

Other levels of government ban similar technology during meetings, he argued.

    I can just imagine when he does finally get a blackberry, he’ll have so much trouble balancing it in one hand with the reins to his horse and buggy in the other.
