Reactions on the BlackBerry turn off suggestion
There have been some reactions on the government notice to turn off the BlackBerry:
I’m all in favour of finding ways to make the workplace more efficient, but one idea currently getting attention has the potential to do exactly the opposite.
In a move likely to be embraced by other organisations around the world, a Canadian government department has issued a directive that employees should turn off their BlackBerry devices from 7pm to 7am and at weekends.
The thinking is that freeing people from the addictive electronic gizmos, if only for short periods, will help to restore a more healthy work/life balance. They’ll be able to talk to their spouses or play with their kids rather than responding to meeting requests and deleting spam.

Well, freedom and especially the feeling of freedom comes from the inside! It has nothing to do with what kind of devices you use. You have to be free (as in freedom) in your heart … not in your pocket!
