Earthcomber is the fastest, easiest way to find what’s around you. Anywhere in the USA.
That’s what they are telling at the main page of Earthcomber. This application is available for a variety of mobile devices (like Nokia, Windows Mobile, Palm) and even the BlackBerry. It seems to be just availale for the USA by now but that’s a start.
What is it doing: Based on the current GPS position this application finds interesting spots around you and presents them on your phone. You can even customize location types the application should look for, which allows you to find only places that of your interest.
I will give it a try these days.

Earthcomber è proprio una applicazione che si rivolge a tutti quei dispositivi che, dotati di GPS esterno o interno, hanno la possibilità di interfacciarsi con questa applicazione. Il funzionamento è abbastanza semplice quanto molto simpatico ed utile, di fatto il software localizza la posizione in cui ci troviamo e fornisce tutta una serie di informazioni sui POI che si trovano intorno a noi. Dalle banche agli uffici postali, dai musei agli ospedali, senza dimenticare i locali notturni e i ristorantini più caratteristici.
