Howto: Transfer ring tones to your BlackBerry using Bluetooth (Mac OS X)
- Open “Media” Application on your Blackberry.
- Select “Ring Tones”.
- Select either “All Ring Tones”, “My Ring Tones” or “Preloaded Ring Tones”.
- Press the Blackberry button directly to the right of the green phone button (the button that looks like a dialpad - actually it looks like a BlackBerry).
- Select “Receive Using Bluetooth” (You will see a “File Transfer - Waiting for connection” message).
- Go to your MAC and open Bluetooth File Exchange.
- Select “Send File”.
- Select the device you want to transfer your file to (in this case, a Blackberry 8100 Pearl).
- Click “Send”.
- Go to your Blackberry and notice a window asking you to “Please choose the location where you wish to save file”.
- Select “Save” located at the bottom left of the window.
- SUCCESS! The ringtone is on your BlackBerry now
This howto is compatible with the following BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds:
- BlackBerry Curve: 8300, 8310.
- BlackBerry Pearl: 8100, 8130.
- BlackBerry 8800, 8820, 8830.
- Technically all BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds running BlackBerry OS 4.2 and newer.

I am using BB8800. I have just added 2 GB micro SD card to BB. I am able to transfer images usingn Bluetooth connection. What is failing is MUSIC!!! I am not able to transfer the music at all. It throws error transfer fail. I think if I have extra memory, there shouldn’t be any limit on file size. Kindly guide.
Cheers
Tushar

I noticed that there is an option to go full screen but it is poorly done. It takes over both screens so it’ s not possible to watch it on a TV and work on the computer. It would be nice to share the streaming URL so that it can be opened in a native…

I’ve had enough of messing around with this poxy device. Bluetooth is supposed to be a secure, convenient method of file transfer. BB is in so many ways fiddly, awkward and “over software engineered”
Every device I own easily talks to all the others except my blackberry. I’m done with it, It’s going on ebay.

on your blackberry go to music>menu>recieve using bluetooth
then on your mac, go to itunes and click a song, then go to the top and hit “advanced”>create AAC version and then after it created that, a new version of the song will pop up.
then go to your bluetooth file exchange and press “send file”, click your device and look in your itunes for the new AAC version of your song. send that file, choose that song and then it will transfer in one minuite. enjoy =)

I now have to figure out, now that I changed my phone ring, why it is that when my phone rings it makes a funny sound like its trying to play something but can’t get it to load. It doesn’t sound like music at all. Yet the song plays beautifully if i just play from the ringtones menu.
Anyone?
