Since quite a long time the BlackBerry service should be available in China. Right now it is possible to get a service plan as well as devices there.
Unfortunately, China Mobile (RIM’s partner in China) is only selling two old devices:
Obviously, you cannot buy - officially - other devices like the Pearl, Curve or one of the 8800 Series. Perhaps because some of them have a built-in GPS receiver and you can navigate quite well with them?
Moreover, it is very interesting that China Mobile’s BlackBerry 8700g looks pretty much like the BlackBerry 7280 (see screenshot below)

The Republic of Uganda and its people “can now access their corporate intranet and e-mails, browse the Web, chat, SMS and a host of other mobile voice and data solutions outside their offices, following the launch of the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution on the Ugandan market”.
It seems the BlackBerry is more and more exploring the African market. We have seen this with the “business intelligence” in South Africa as well as our article with “BlackBerry all over the World”. It will not last long and the whole African market is covered with BlackBerry connectivity.
So if we are on a trip in a foreign country and want to make cheap calls hope, we should always remind us to the possibility to use calling cards

Cognos 8 Go! Mobile extends the value of the proven Cognos 8 Business Intelligence architecture by providing users with access to timely, secure, and personalized information on their BlackBerry® wireless devices.
After checking their website didn’t really know what “business intelligence” is. But it sounds promising and it somehow reminds me to the Central Intelligence Agency. I guess there might be a lot of business users who are interested in business intelligence. It seems to be an interesting range of application.
While Cognos 8 Go! Mobile is initially available for the BlackBerry wireless device platform, Bredenkamp says continued development will imminently result in a solution suitable for the Windows Mobile operating system, and possibly the Symbian platform on which Nokia and other leading handsets are based. “BlackBerry has enjoyed limited adoption in the South African market; it is likely that mobile BI will see larger scale adoption locally when the Windows solution is available,” he says.

(PRWEB) September 19, 2007 — Network Solutions has developed a new application that allows customers to search for and buy a domain name, or conduct a WHOIS database search, directly from their iPhone, Treo™, Blackberry®, or other Web-enabled mobile devices.
This new mobile application, which allows customers to buy a domain with just one click, can detect whether a customer is visiting the Network Solutions site from an iPhone or other mobile-enabled device, and quickly presents a home page that can be easily viewed. If a customer is using an iPhone, this new application will present an interface specifically designed for their phone that leverages the iPhone’s high resolution touch screen.

Basically, it is just a small website that is optimized for mobile browser like the BlackBerry® browser. If you use Opera Mini you can order domains at every company like godaddy.com.

Just experimenting a bit with some tag clouds…
It is really nice to see that the BlackBerry devices seem to be quite famous. Unfortunately, it is not possible to get a tag cloud that comes with links of several BlackBerry related gadgets. It would be great to have everything like cases, batteries, Bluetooth GPS receivers, devices, SD-Cards and so on in there.
Looks like the BlackBerry Curve is really famous right now ![]()
Just some days after Sprint Nextel mentioned the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on a poster which confirms the BlackBerry 8130 will come with an internal GPS receiver we have seen a new hint on this.
It seems Skylab Mobilesystems has added the new and unreleased BlackBerry Pearl 8130 to its compatiblity list for the GPS / Mapping application Spot and its KML tracklog application MobileTracker (beta). So we can now be sure that the new Pearl will come with an internal GPS receiver and will bring that great feature to this great phone. As you can’t find an official notice on their site as well as there seems to be no press release on this I guess they just prepaired it for the official release of the new 8130.
