Impossible? No! Possible!

“BlackBerry OS 4.2.2 Device Simulators” have been released some days ago. If you have a Microsoft Windows machine you can download and install them. You will see a 8830.bat file placed in the installation directory which you just need to execute and the new device will pop up.

There is currently only one network carrier’s device available as simulator. However, it provides a good overview and let us check out the new 8830:

BlackBerry® Device Simulators v4.2.2.66 (Verizon Wireless)
Supported devices: BlackBerry® 8830 smartphone (Verizon Wireless)

Here is what you do:

1. Go to Software Download for Device Simulators
2. Select “BlackBerry Device Simulators v4.2.2″
3. Follow the instructions and download the package to some directory on you desktop computer
4. Once the download has finished successfully click the .exe file and the installer will do its work
