An interesting quote from the BlackBerry competitor front:

Palm has struggled with tough competition from Research In Motion, whose BlackBerry devices have started to migrate from corporate to consumer and small-business users.

Well, I don’t think so. Perhaps it is Palm’s last chance but this is not only about the operating system. RIM’s advantage is the compbination of enterprise solutions and their integration into the BlackBerry mobile device. Bringing the office to your mobile is an advantage no one should miss. As we have seen on the Earnings Report RIM seems to be successful in the way they are developing and marketing their products. It’s all about innovation!

However, RIM should be careful. If we take a look to Palm we can see a story that is quite interesting. Once the pioneer on the PDA market they have become a small player until now. Most of Palm’s “going-down” is connected with Palms operating system. The current Palm OS 5.4 is so old, I can’t even imagine when the last update came. Well, it seems to be possible to play YouTube videos on your Palm, that’s great! but not really a purchase argument. The revolution on the PDA market is done, now it is time to build reliable and stable devices with rich features like multimedia, security, phone and messaging functions, an open API for developers to build programs on top of the platform. That’s what RIM is doing quite well these days.

So final answer for now is just: No
